Capillary systems have been installed since the eighties and they correspond to the current state of the art in technologies of the water bearing surface heating and cooling systems.

As the floor, wall and ceiling heating / ceiling cooling systems the capillary mats from polypropylene take care for uniform heat exchange on particularly large surfaces.

The system temperature, low for heating and high for cooling is not only very much energy saving but also it has a large share in heat radiation – for especially healthy and pleasant climate in the room.

Operation principles

The special efficiency of the capillary heating and cooling is based on especially large area of heat exchange of the capillary structure, which assures high heat efficiency.
The capillary mats are thinner, lighter and mounted more shallow than the classic ones, more covered curves from thick pipes, thanks to which they can transfer more power and this means faster heating or cooling. And it is at lower supply temperatures.

Heat radiation instead of convection

The surface heating provides exceptional comfort thanks to the uniform heat distribution in a room. In this system, the air does not heat up and does not ascend, in this instance the walls radiate heat. Thanks to it, draughts and air humidity have no influence on the wind chill temperature.

The sensible temperature difference between the heat of heaters and heat radiation, as testing demonstrates, is 2°C. Depending on the room temperature, it means power saving between 6 and 12%.

Heat radiation instead of convection

A ceiling is an ideal cooling surface. Without any draughts and noise cooled air descends smoothly to the room – nicer and healtier than in the case of fans or air conditioning.

The system water temperature is pleasant 16/18°C, no need for less. Cooling always works in the temperature above the dew point, thanks to which condensate is never formed. Depending on the temperature of the dew point and flow, the cooling ceiling demonstrates maximal cooling output up to 120 W/m².

Where the health counts

Similar to the capillary vessels in our skin, the capillary pipes toughen up with a building – delicately and very efficiently. Due to a small difference of temperatures between the room temperature (e.g. 22°C) and the temperature of water in the system (e.g. 28°C) the share of radiation is especially high and the share in the convection is especially low. It creates the comfort of heating and cooling. The surface heating and cooling improves the life style as it is free from noises and draughts, which increase dust and bacteria level.

The health factor increased the profits of the building landlord. It influences the recuperation of patients in hospitals, satisfaction of hotel guests, improvement of employees efficiency at the work place, increase of tenant satisfaction and diminishes the expenses of tenant in overhauled buildings.

Heating and cooling simultaneously

Double investments are no longer necessary: The capillary system can both heat as well as cool. It can be done in the option “either-or” and then it is possible to plan a layout in the double duct system. If in the same building both heat and cold are available at the same time it is designed as a four duct system.

The capillary distribution system can be easily served from all the energy sources, heating, heating and cooling devices.

For all the systems: Eco, geo, solar

The capillary systems play the key role in applying thermostats in the building and the process. Their very high transfer efficiency enables application of all the natural and fossil heat or cold sources. It allows the use of sea water, air as well as the geothermal or solar energy. Without application of additional drive energy, Industrial waste heat, heat transferred for long distance and process heat can be utilized more effectively than in any other system. Also utilization of the fossil fuels such as natural gas and crude oil is more effective by the use of the capillary system.

Variants of placement

Excellent construction usefulness of the GeoClima systems opens many possibilities of assembly.

Placement of the ceiling heating or cooling system under the plasterboard suspended ceiling is the most frequent way of the assembly. This way is useful especially in the case of the flat suspended ceilings.

Assembly in the concrete mass cast at the construction site enables very fast and exceptionally high power return thanks to shallow placement.

All the kinds of plasterwork work well with the capillary mats, they allow for shallow placement and not complicated way. The investors working with clay are especially pleased with the hygroscopic properties of the clay layer, which the capillary system allows to expose especially.

The system placed in the plasterwork is applied both in new building as well as in old ones. It is possible to apply exceptionally thin layers of plasterwork on the capillary mats, which allows to save on the material costs. Planning of the wall heating always proceeds according to the space conception and demand for heat. You do not have to use all the walls.

Plastered ceiling heating and cooling features the largest speed of adjustment. In the case of placement on the ceiling the capillary mats are place especially close to the surface. Within a few minutes the heat radiation of cooling becomes active. Thus they are the ideal solution for spontaneous space utilization.

The floor heating in tile flooring allows for very even heat distribution. Due to the high efficiency of the capillary mats the required supply heat temperature is much lower than in the meander, large diameter tube systems. It is much healthier and saves energy. Especially the heat pumps benefit from the capillary systems.
